Shouqing Zhu is China Policy Advisor at UNEP Finance Initiative. Before joining UNEP FI, he was Head of Climate Action for Greater China at World Economic Forum (WEF), Senior Advisor on Innovative Finance at United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Chief Technical Advisor on SDG Finance at United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Senior Associate and Head of China Finance Centre at the World Resources Institute (WRI). Earlier in his career, he worked with multinational corporations and international financial institutions, managed cross border investment projects, developed renewable energy and GHG management projects, and participated in policy advisory activities with governments of China and other APEC economies. He has an M.Phil. in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and an M.A. in History from Peking University. He also pursued doctoral research in bankingregulation and international standards implementation at the University of Melbourne. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Greenhouse Gas Inventory Quantifier (GHG-IQ).
