Bio

Perpetua George is the General Manager of Group Sustainability for Wilmar International. Her key responsibilities include developing and implementing sustainability policies and initiatives while leading sustainability-related stakeholder engagement efforts for Wilmar’s operations globally. She has extensive working experience in forest conservation, sustainable sourcing and production in the FMCG industry, namely Unilever, as well as with the consultancy, Proforest and civil society, WWF.

She actively participates and contributes to various platforms and working groups, including her role as Co-Chair for the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Smallholder Working Group and the FFB Legality and Traceability Task Force. She also chairs the Smallholder Support Fund Panel and is  a Trustee of the Malaysian Palm Oil Certification Council (MPOCC), which administers the Malaysian Standard Palm Oil (MSPO) standard. She is also part of the Sabah Jurisdictional Approach Steering Committee and the COP 26 Forest,Agriculture and Commodity Trade (FACT) Working Group, among many others.

Pep holds an MSc in botany and anthropology, and her research expertise is in the natural resource use of local communities.
