Bio

Irfan is the Program Director of the Climate and Market Transformation of WWF Indonesia. He directs WWF Indonesia’s activities on climate and footprint-related programs, such as energy, sustainable commodity, sustainable finance, and no plastic in nature programs. He has worked for WWF Indonesia since February 2023.

Previously, Irfan had more than 20 years of experience working for NGOs and development programs on community-based natural resources management, sustainable commodity, and biodiversity conservation. He worked for different NGOs and development projects, such as Indonesia Biodiversity Foundation, Partnership for Governance Reform (KEMITRAAN), Lembaga ARUPA Yogyakarta, USAID BIJAK, MCA Indonesia, USAID Orangutan Conservation Service Program, and DFID Multistakeholder Forestry Program.

Irfan earned his bachelor’s in forestry in 2001 from Gadjah Mada University. He got advanced multi-stakeholder facilitation skills when he joined training on Facilitating Multi-stakeholder processes and social learning at Wageningen University, The Netherlands 2004. Irfan got his master’s degree from The Magister on Political Science at the APMD School of Rural Community Development (STPMD - APMD) Yogyakarta.
