Atty. Anna Veloso Tuazon is currently a legislator at the House of Representatives representing the third legislative district of Leyte comprising the municipalities of Villaba, Tabango, San Isidro, Calubian and Leyte. She is the Vice-Chairman of the House Committees on Climate Change, Sustainable Development Goals, and Revision of Laws, an Assistant Majority Floor Leader, and a member of the Committees on Energy, Transportation, Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry, Visayas Development, and Creative Industries. She likewise legislated for the Province of Leyte as a member of the Provincial Board from 2019 – 2022.

Prior to joining the government, she worked at one of the oldest and largest law firms in the Philippines, where she advised clients on international commercial arbitration, corporate law, banking, and labor law in the Philippines. She continued her capital markets work after leaving the firm, providing legal advice as seconded legal counsel for a listed company, and as head of the legal department of a pioneering mortgage finance servicer. At the same time, Anna pursued her interests in art, design, and socio-cultural advocacy, co-founding the Leyte – Samar Heritage Society, Inc., serving as trustee of Vicente M Veloso Memorial Foundation, Inc. where she organized literacy programs for children, launched the Balay Kalamragan art residency program, and spearheaded relief efforts in the wake of the devastation wrought by Typhoon Haiyan in Leyte and Samar. Her interest in inclusive business stems from her work with bottom of the pyramid communities, which intensified when she co- founded the social enterprise Abre Linea in response to the need for post-disaster livelihood opportunities, particularly among women weavers in Leyte and Samar.

Anna has a Masters degree in International Commercial and Trade Law from Vrije Universiteit - Amsterdam, a law degree from the University of the Philippines, and a Legal Management degree from the Ateneo de Manila University.
